Oso Slick was born in Hollywood Ca. but soon after moved to northern California where he grew up in the mountains of Tuolumne county. Inspired by his father to seek the truth in every situation, Oso started writing poetry at the age of 10. While listening to different styles of music; punk rock, hip hop, reggae, heavy metal, classic rock, and blue grass, he began to write his own lyrics. At first, they were songs that he would spit acapella , but at the age of 18 he joined the local punk band, "Down For A Dozen." After being a punk singer for six years, which honed his stage presence, he decided to go solo and pursue a career in hip-hop. He dropped out of high school and moved out on his own at 15. He initially struggled financially working as a dish washer, snowboarding instructor, construction worker, logger, landscaper, stage hand, and part-time criminal. His dreams of a life on stage were quickly put on the back burner. But at the age of 28, after doing a series of basement projects, he decided to get serious about his career released his first mixtape, " Sk8&Destroy". He has since been on the Vans Warped Tour, Played at SXSX in Austin, and has rocked countless shows in between. Being a California native, he loves extreme sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing, which continually inspire his songwriting. Music and extreme sports are a positive outlet for creativity that inspire Oso to strive to be the best he can be. He's not about the fame or fortune, but rather connecting with people of all creeds and colors all over the world. His goal is to provide a good time, where we can connect, let go of stress, and live in the present. Life is too short to be caught up in the past or future, all we have is now.
